Meet Our Bass Instructor
Jarod Boles is a freelance double bassist in Southeast Michigan. He is currently finishing his master’s degree at the University of Michigan under the tutelage of Max Dimoff while serving as a substitute bassist for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra. Some of his most recent endeavors include touring with the TCO in Miami Florida in 2020 and attending the WABASS Institute in 2019.
Jarod started playing the bass at age 13 and began his studies at Kennesaw State University in 2010. He built a steady freelance career in Atlanta Georgia after completing his bachelor's degree and before deciding further his studies in 2019. Jarod has had comprehensive experience performing outside of the orchestral realm in musicals, operas, and various pop settings.
In addition to his life as a performer, Jarod has had extensive teaching experience. He was a regular sectional coach at many middle and high schools in Cobb County Georgia, and served as a coach for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra from 2016-2019. Outside of exploring, collaborating, and growing on the bass, Jarod enjoys Olympic Weightlifting, and spending time with his cat, Berlioz.
