Meet Our Flute Instructor
Lorin Green has studied music since the age of nine with concentrations in voice, violin, and flute. She graduated from John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School located in Augusta, GA in 2016 with her pathway being in Music. Throughout high school, she studied with Mrs. Angela Massey of the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Green held the position of principal flute with the DFA Symphonic Band, the DFA Symphony Orchestra, the Aiken Youth Symphony Orchestra, and is a former member of the Augusta Flute Choir. Ms. Green has also performed with the United States Army Field Band and has attended music festivals and camps held by prestigious members of the Flute Community such as Bonita Boyd of the Eastman School of Music. She has been awarded numerous Music Scholarships and is the winner of the 2018 Sigma Alpha Iota Mary Ann Starring Memorial Award in the Woodwind or Brass Division.
In addition to being an active soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Green also has years of teaching experience with holding numerous masterclasses and giving private lessons to students of the elementary, middle school, high school, collegiate, and adult learner levels. Ms. Green recently received her Bachelors in Flute Performance at Kennesaw State University where she sat as Principal Flute of the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble for two years. During her time at KSU, Ms. Green studied Flute with Mrs. Christina Smith of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Piccolo with Mrs. Kelly Bryant of the Atlanta Opera.
Ms. Green is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Flute Performance from the University of New Mexico where she studies with Valerie Potter of the New Mexico Symphony and is a Graduate Assistant and Fellow of the UNM School of Music.
